Travis was asked a few days ago to run in the Goodwill Mud Run in Greenville with a group of friends from church. He was very hesitant because he didn't have any time to train, but with a little encouragement he sucked it up and joined them. They were Team Honeybadgers. It was only 3.5 miles and there were 36 obstacles. And lots of mud. We (their wives and children) saw them at the start and at the finish. So we don't have any pictures of what happened on the rest of the course. I hear it was brutal, though. :)
Travis and I pulled in with about 30 seconds to spare. If he didn't make it to the start at exactly 10:38, then they wouldn't be able to run. Long story, but we made it just in the nick of time!
And they're off! Already in the mud after about 2 seconds. This is Travis and Jared.
This is the last time we saw them before they came back around at the end.
We had fun waiting around and watching other mud runners come in to the finish. These girls' dads were running with Travis. Gabi, Stella, and Cami--aren't they so pretty?
Finally they come running around the corner! How are they still running??
Are those smiles?
Ew.
It looks easy climbing this hill, right? But everyone was slipping all over the place. They can see the finish line, but there's more pain to come...
They slid down the other side of that hill and met this wall.
They had to hoist each other up.
And then back down. They actually got each other up pretty quickly. We were impressed. Oh yeah, and they had drill sergeants all along the course yelling at them, telling them to keep moving, etc.
Are we done yet?
Not quite. More crawling. In the mud. And they had to stay under the ropes. There were people there making sure they didn't cheat.
Done?
Nope. Now to the awkward piggy back rides.
Finish line!!!
Does Lisa want a hug? I don't think so!
Great job, guys!
Sebastian, Jared, Casey, Travis
Some were forcing smiles, some were not. Can you guess who?? :)

lol...great job, Travis! The piggy back pictures were definitely my favorite. :)
Wow - another great reason to be glad you're pregnant!! Looks like they had fun - makes me squirm. I can't imagine being that slimy & dirty.
OH MY HECK!!! This post cracked us up so much that I was in tears! Idk if I can do it next year because I laugh so much. Casey said the course will quickly help me focus. haha That was super fun. What a great post. Loved the picture of the girls, too. :)
AWESOME! Hahaha! I love it! That looks SO hard and SO painful. I hope they had a good wash down before getting in the cars!
