Julia--2 Months and a Sophie update

Julia is 2 months old!!!  Okay, plus a couple weeks--I'm behind.  At her 2 month check up she was 12 lbs, 13 oz (that's really, really big) and 23 inches (that's pretty tall).  Sophie wasn't quite this big when she was 2 months.

Julia is talking and smiling and giggling all the time.  I need to get videos of it...  She likes to stand and wiggle and strengthen her muscles.

She LOVES to hang around in her baby carrier.  A friend from church gave us her Baby Bjorn and it has been the BEST thing!  We had a cheap one from Target that Julia didn't like, but she really loves this one.  So we go on lots of walks to the park and mailbox and everyone is happy.  I can chase Sophie around and carry Julia without hands at the same time.  It's a miracle. :)

For some reason, Julia doesn't love it so much when other people hold her.  She is liking Travis more and more.  Grandma is still working on her. :)  If Sophie was bigger, Julia would definitely let her hold her.  I can tell already they're going to be best friends.

Sophie update:

Sophie is really good at tantrums and whining.  Hopefully this will end.  Please someone tell me it will END!! :)

She LOVES nursery in our new ward with 36 other kids!  But only if Travis or I are in there with her.  She goes crazy if we leave her and won't calm down.  It's very sad.  My mom said I never stayed in nursery, so I guess I'm not surprised.  Travis and I just take turns in there.  Hopefully we'll get a calling in the nursery. :)

Sophie goes pee pee in the toilet every day.  She hangs out usually all morning without a diaper (unless we go somewhere).  And she just goes on her own.  It's pretty cute and fun.  I put a diaper on her for her nap and then sometimes it stays on the rest of the day and sometimes I remember to take it off.  But if we're going in and out of the apartment then I just leave it on her.  I'll probably get a little more diligent with it in a month or two.  She's still adjusting to the new apartment and baby and everything.  Oh yeah, if I put panties on her then she goes in them.  I think it probably feels like a diaper.  Thus, no diaper.

Sophie sleeps in her crib in our room.  And Julia sleeps in her pack n play in our room.  It's a party every night! :)  And sometimes I wake up in the morning and Travis is in the guest room.  I don't blame him. :)

Sophie loves to read.  I took out a ton of my classroom books that were in storage and she is in heaven.

I have found that little kids are like puppies.  Give them a job to do and everyone is happy.  She helps me clean, fold laundry, get the mail while carrying her baby doll (as I carry my baby), give Julia a bath, fetch things for me in the other room, and cook and bake.

She still hates getting in her car seat and sometimes there are tears from everyone by the time I actually get her in.  It is very sad and I can't wait until she is in a regular seat.

Sophie loves singing and dancing.  She has learned a lot of songs and dances since Barney started babysitting. :)  She sings and dances along with them.  She sings at night with me when I'm putting her to sleep.  She knows a lot of songs and it's so cute singing with her!  We also have the toddler station on Pandora most of the day.

Loved the update! Julia is SO cute and Sophie is an awesome singer...she must take after her mom and dad. : ) Loved the Barny song and the 'great big hug part' especially.

The meltdowns...oh, the meltdowns! Glad we're not alone! :)
