18 Months

Say WHAT?!!!

Sophie is 18 months.  It seems like she's 6 years old.  Seriously.  In the last 6 months or so she has learned so much and is doing so much more.  We had her check up the other day and she is not as big as we thought. :)  She is 22 pounds (around the 30th percentile) and 32 in long (around the 55th percentile).  She looks tall for her age, but really, who do I have to compare her with around here? :) And she moves non-stop so I'm not too surprised about the weight.

Here is her animal sounds video most of you already saw on facebook.

My brother recently got home from his mission to Scotland/Ireland.  This is what he wore his first Sunday back. :)  Isn't he a stud?!

This is AJ and Sophie a day or two after AJ got home from his mission.  I found them in here reading together.  Sophie loves AJ.  He is in Utah right now visiting my dad so Sophie walks around saying, "AJ, AJ, AJ, AJ...." a lot.  It's really cute.

Sophie's best friend, Emma

And look who went potty in her toilet!  She's gone twice big time like this in the last 2 days.  And she's tinkled a little a few times also.  She's been going diaper-less this week and I have learned that she goes around 11am, so around then I make sure I watch her carefully because she does tell me when she needs to go. :)  And we keep this pot of water handy for her to splash her feet in while she sits on the toilet (Grandma's idea).  That helps her go.  It's a work in progress, but she really is interested.  So we'll see how it goes.

Galveston and Other Fun Times

 At a park in town

Playing with Amber (and Emma--not pictured)

I love how her legs are wrapped around Travis' legs

Hanging out with Lucy in the car.  She likes to just go out and sit in the cars during the day.
It's too hot now so she settles for air conditioned rides down to the dumpster. :)

Uncle AJ (aka Sophie's new best friend)

 Sophie and Amy

Sophie and Dad checking out the cows

Travis went to Galveston for work and we got to go with him!  He had training during the day and played with us when he got done at 4:00.  Sophie and I played in the mornings and took 3 hour naps until Travis got back from work.  Doesn't that sound like a great mini vacation?  It was!!!

On the drive to Galveston.  She fell asleep eating the banana.

Sophie had fun riding on the luggage cart at the hotel.

 Ready to go swimming!

We rode a shuttle van to dinner one night.  Sophie didn't ride in a car seat.  Shhh.... :)

After dinner we walked around and Sophie got to see lots of boats--including HUGE cruise ships.  I didn't get a picture of those, though.

Sophie and Dad trying on hats.  Looks good, right?

On the shuttle ride home, Sophie enjoying an ice cream cone
(maybe with a little help from Mom and Dad)

At the beach.  Sophie was way into the super sized sand box. :)

 So hot. So sunny.

Sophie enjoys bath time no matter where she is.  And no matter how many toys she has.
