Julia is 6 months old! She weighed 17 lbs 15 oz (90th percentile) and her height was in the 75th percentile, but I can't remember what it was. Her hemangioma on her face has stopped growing (months ago). I forget it's there until people ask me about it. I'm sure to other people it's the only thing they notice, but I rarely notice it anymore.
Julia is sitting up and has rolled over twice. She could take off crawling at any moment, but chooses not to for now. Pop is going out of town for 2 weeks and he told Julia she's not allowed to crawl until he gets back.
Julia doesn't know what it means to sleep through the night and she really doesn't care. :) We're in a 2 bedroom apartment, so it's been an adventure figuring out sleeping arrangements (we haven't figured it out yet). At the moment, Sophie is in her own room on a queen size bed--with lots of pillows and stuffed animals. And Julia is in the crib in our room. Julia is nowhere close to sleeping through the night, so we really don't want to put her in with Sophie yet. Suggestions??....
She started on solids and is getting better every day at keeping stuff in her mouth. She has tried bananas, avacadoes, mashed potatoes, cereal, orange and I'm sure I'm forgetting some.
She LOVES Sophie and keeps her eyes on her all the time. They love to play together on our bed.
Sophie takes care of her baby doll all day long. Putting her down for a nap whenever I put Julia down. Feeds her baby when I feed Julia, etc.
Sophie is so cute these days. Way less tantrums (or maybe I'm blocking them out??) and she is adding words to her vocabulary every day. Grandma got her a box of 12 nursery rhymes for Christmas and she can recite probably 10 of them (they're short).
Sophie is finally learning her colors. She knows most of them. And she knows a few shapes. Her favorite is a triangle. She points out every triangle she sees.
Sophie wears diapers, panties, or nothing. Whatever she wants whenever she wants. She is in control of her potty training. She also picks out her outfits most days.
Sophie goes to nursery---with Dad. If we sneak out and leave her alone, they end up bringing her to us. So Travis just stays in there with her the whole time and helps out with the other kids. I think he secretly likes it. :)
Sophie doesn't take a nap unless she's in the car. Both girls go to bed between 7-8pm.
AJ is leaving in August for the Marines. Sophie is going to miss her best friend. I'm really, really sad about this. But happy for him.
She fell asleep right here while watching cartoons with Sophie.
I love my job.
Melanie, I think you gave this to Sophie but it fits Julia!
Sophie got a rocking horse for Christmas from Grandma and Pop.
Heart shaped hemangioma.
We've had a few freezes here this winter. This was at a car wash. It was closed. :)
Sophie fell asleep right here while I was washing dishes. She found this dvd player and was playing with it. There was no power. She was just pushing buttons.
We went to the zoo with Adam, Jen, and Grandma last weekend. Travis was working. Sophie had a lot of fun even though it was pretty cold for most of the trip. And she became best friends with Jen. :)
Ready for a walk.
I have some videos I will post soon.
