Julia's One Year Birthday

We had cake and opened presents at my mom's house for Julia's birthday.

 Strawberry upside down cake.

 Emma, Amber, Julia, Haley, Sophie

Yummy.

 Presents!

Because she likes Sophie's chair so much, we got her one.  It's a rocker.

I think she loved the baby best.

More Pictures and Videos (I'm getting so creative with my titles)

She likes to clear off the shelf and sit down.

Sophie gets a turn vacuuming after me every time.  Julia loves it, too.  If we're having a rough day, I just get out the vacuum cleaner.  Seriously.

Julia sits on this bear's lap all the time.

Brayden came with us to Aunt Jen's baby shower.
This is in Mom's truck.  We can't fit 3 car seats in our Corolla. :)

They liked riding together.

Dance party.  Sorry about Sophie's lack of clothes.

They like to take the cushions off the couch and play.
I encourage it. :)

 See how happy they are?!

I found them in here with Sophie reading to Julia.  I wish I could somehow sneak up on them without them noticing me.  Oh well.  They're cute.

Pop has a new knee!  Yay!!

This is a common sight in our house.

She sleeps in the car a lot.

Do you know what she's saying?  We're working hard on vocabulary. :)

 Julia's rash

Aiza and Vicki came over for dinner.  This was as close as Sophie would get. :)

Julia is ONE YEAR OLD!

Julia is now a 1 year old!  I can't believe it's been a year already.  We love having her in our family.  She is so chill and happy.  At her one year appointment she weighed 21 pounds (75th percentile) and was 29 inches long (50th percentile).  Sophie only weighs a few pounds more right now.  I assume the same thing will happen with Julia.  She's not gaining as much now that she's walking around and moving so much.  But she does eat a lot. :)

Julia is very cuddly and loves sitting on my lap.  When she's walking around she likes to back up to things like her chairs, me if I'm sitting, or anything around that height and just cop a squat.  It's very cute.  She likes to bring me books and sits on my lap for me to read them.  Also cute.

Julia wakes up no less than 6 times a night and often more.  I will say nothing more on the matter. :)

Sophie sleeps through the night.

Sophie got Fifth Disease (sounds dangerous, not dangerous at all) a few weeks ago.  She just got a major rash (not itchy or anything) all over her body for 2 weeks.  So that went away and then a couple weeks later Julia got it.  I have pictures below.

Julia is still nursing but eating everything we're eating, too.

Sophie and Julia love each other and have so much fun playing together every day.  When I take a shower they like to get in the crib and play with their dolls.  So cute!  I'm really glad they have each other.

Sophie still won't go to nursery by herself.  We try on occasion to leave her but she screams so hard and yells at the leaders trying to comfort her.  I don't want to leave her in there anymore by herself (it's not worth it in my opinion), but sometimes the leaders tell us to go and it will be okay.  But they always end up bringing her to us and she cries in the hall for the rest of church.  Her birthday is in December, so she'll be a VERY young Sunbeam.  I'm not really looking forward to that, but I've heard with some kids who don't like nursery they do like Sunbeams.  We'll see.  I'm sure she'll grow out of it, it's just hard to know what I should be doing or not doing, etc.  My mom says I wouldn't go to nursery, either, but I survived.  I do remember going to class with Melanie when I was in Primary.  Sophie doesn't have a big sister to go with, though. :)

Sophie has been doing a lot better about tantrums for several months now.  I think her terrible twos were on the early side??  She'll still have a melt down on occasion, but nothing like before where she would just cry and cry.  I'm giving Julia permission to skip the tantrum phase altogether.

Okay, here are some pictures and videos for your viewing pleasure. :)

 Lots of clips!

You can see the start of her rash on her cheeks.

Haley comes over on occasion to have a tea party with Sophie on the porch. :)

Haley is so good with Sophie.

I think she got to stay up and watch a movie or something this night.
She probably had a nap earlier (which she normally doesn't do).

The girls love playing under the kitchen table.  Julia is learning how to duck so she doesn't hit her head.  But she still forgets every once in a while.

 Sophie loves play dough.

You can see the rash on her arms and hands.

Julia is modeling our laundry room/pantry :)

Sophie is starting to draw figures.  She can draw circles and then draws lines coming out of them for arms, legs, ears, etc.  She loves to draw and color.  This is not a picture of her artwork, it just reminded me of it. :)

On the fourth of July we joined the Rockdale Branch for breakfast (our ward wasn't doing anything).  There were a few really cute little girls, so we decided to have a baby parade.  The funny thing is that all three little girls had matching outfits (not planned--we don't really even know each other), but we did the parade naked for some reason (just the babies)!

Julia is the youngest.  And chubbiest.

Later we went to my mom's and guess who was there??
Brayden and Jefferson (and John and Ally)!

Bryaden and Sophie.
They could be twins.

Hanging out at Pop's shop.  I think the guys were trying to get it set up for electricity.  And we were just watching, hanging out on the swings.

 Travis and AJ (my brother)

 Walmart!
And Sophie's outie belly button!

Good bye, Daddy!  Have a good day at work!

 We love you!

Yes, I found her here.
